Pictures of labour and birth
These pictures show the stages and I have copyrite permission to reprint them.
It is best to use pictures that represent the woman in an upright position, which
these pictures don't. They can give the impression that you lie on your back to give birth. Though it is hard to get hold of pictures so sometimes you can use them
adding an explanation.

You may wish to make cards with words of pictures on them. Then placing them in a labour line yourself or asking the group to do this.

Ask participants "what words come to mind when they think of Birth"? This can then lead into discussion. These are some possible words they come up with..
You may wish to give them a handout with possible words and ask them to circle the ones which they would like their birth to be.
